Applications for Summer 2026 open on January 1, 2026
Please note there are separate applications for TECS students and students from outside NC State. Be sure to submit the correct application.
Currently enrolled in a TECS degree program (TE, TT or PCC)?
The TECS REU program for current TECS students is a part-time REU program. Accepted students will work an average of 20 hours per week. This provides students the flexibility to take summer classes or other part-time work positions. Between 30-40 students are accepted to the program each year.
Admission Requirements
- First-year, sophomore or junior standing. Those graduating in May 2026 are not eligible to apply. Students graduating in December 2026 are eligible to apply.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in PCC, TE or TT major.
- The application deadline is February 28, 2026.
Not a TECS NC State student?
The NSF REU Site: Textiles of Tomorrow TECS REU program for external students is a full-time REU program. Accepted students will work an average of 40 hours per week. Housing is provided for non-local students. The cohort size for this program is 8 students.
Admission Requirements
- Freshman, sophomore or junior standing.
- Applicants must be majoring in a science or engineering-related field.
- Two letters of recommendation
